Martina McBride
Showtime: 9:00pm
The Event Center at Harrah's Tunica
Contemporary country singer Martina McBride rose to stardom in the late 1990’s, with a unique sound that ranges from a traditionalist country approach to more pop-friendly tunes. McBride’s big break came in 1991 when her demo taped helped her get signed to RCA Records and she was selected as an opening slot on tour with Garth Brooks. She began releasing albums in 1992, and her breakthrough album “The Way That I Am” shot up the country charts, with many singles landing in Top 10 spots. Then in 1997, her album “Evolution” produced two number one hits and sold over 2 million copies, officially launching McBride into the top ranks of country stardom. Over the years, McBride has continued to record music and has released 15 albums so far in her career. She tours all over the United States with some of the biggest names in the country music. Her biggest desire is just to keep recording and touring, saying “I hope I get to do this for as long as I can, because I just love it so much!”
Martina McBride has won countless awards over the years for her music and videos, as well as her humanitarian work.
She has won Best Female Vocals and Best Country Singer multiple times during her career, such as being named "Favorite Country Female Artist" in 2003 by the American Music Awards.
She also won BMI and ASCAP awards for her song "Anyway" in 2007, as well as a Billboard Music Award for "Top Grossing Tour of the Year."
